Apparently December 12th is National Gingerbread House Day!
Who decided that and why? We don’t mind, we love a good excuse for something tasty in our lives and a Gingerbread House screams fun and tasty all at once.
A fondness for gingerbread suggests brevity is the order of the day for this blog so, rather than wax lyrical about the history of gingerbread, I’ll let the learned body, English Heritage, provide the background in A short history of gingerbread By Sam Bilton (it’s actually rather fascinating) and I’ll skip merrily onto gingerbread construction.
By the way: You may want to try some Gingerbread hot chocolate before, during or afterwards!
