This month we have a Spring Challenge for you and we are taking the Meteorological definition of Spring as our marker, the first of March is when Spring begins. Astronomically Spring begins on the 20th March but don’t wait to start having some fun.
One of the great joys in life for us is enjoying the cycle of seasons. We know many people struggle with winter time, less sunshine and daylight can be a challenge and consequently there is always a joy and sense of expectation around Spring arriving.
Have you seen bumblebees around yet? In our home the ladybirds have been venturing out. Sadly I don’t thing our bee hive has survived winter but we need warmer days before we will check, ten degrees centigrade is where we expect to see them appear if a nucleus has made it through.
Snowdrops are up and we have been basking in the glorious scent of mahonia which always delights me in wintertime, for me it is a scent of New Year. I see plenty of crocus as I drive around and even some narcissi in bloom.
Spring approaches and we want to capture memories of how it ‘Makes Life Special’.
We have a Spring Photography Challenge for you! Capture the Magic of the season.
Technology has given us wonderful gifts, nearly everyone carries a high performance camera in their pocket and Journaling Apps allow us to record our thoughts and connect images with them. In our personal life we enjoy Day One
For me the best thing is each day getting a reminder of ‘On this Day’, memories are fresher with it and the number of times we say, ‘was it really that long ago?’ and wonderfully ‘oh, I’d forgotten about that!’
Phones do this for us, social media can, there are a host of journaling apps out there and, like us, you may choose to keep a good old fashioned Diary and write things down.
Spring is a season of renewal, colour, and transformation—making it the perfect time for a photography challenge. Whether you use a phone, DSLR, or film camera, this is your chance to slow down, observe, and capture nature’s rebirth.
